The AGEC 2022 law: what is changing?

The year 2022 is off to a great start since on January 1, 2022 the new measures of the AGEC law (Anti-waste and circular economy) come into force.

Among these, we recall:

• the obligation to install water fountains in all establishments open to the public;
• the abolition of the free distribution of bottled water in businesses and establishments open to the public;
• and the obligation to clearly indicate the possibility of requesting free drinking water in establishments open to the public.

These are all concrete measures that will reduce plastic waste and promote access to water for all – all measures that fully reflect Eau de Paris' commitments in terms of solidarity. , water accessibility and ecological transition.

Eau de Paris in 2022: even more water and ever less plastic

With the objective of making Paris the first city without single-use plastic bottles by 2024, in 2022 we will continue to develop and modernize the network of Parisian fountains, which today has no less than 1 water points. in all the city.

To facilitate access to water everywhere and at any time, the "Here, I choose Paris water" operation, launched by Eau de Paris in September 2021, invites shops, businesses and restaurants to open their doors and to fill your water bottles or any other container with tap water on demand and free of charge. The goal? Build an initial network of 500 retail partners by April 2022.
