Water quality

Eau de Paris is a balanced, economical and closely monitored water. It is subject to rigorous and permanent monitoring, from source to tap. Eau de Paris can be consumed by everyone, at any age, without moderation!

Balanced water

Whatever its origin, Paris water naturally contains calcium, magnesium, sodium, bicarbonates and mineral salts essential to our body and our health.

2 Analyzes of the Eau de Paris laboratory

Safe water

The water of Paris is controlled throughout its course, from the source to the tap. Each year more than 300 parameters microbiological or physico-chemical are analyzed by the Eau de Paris laboratory to ensure health monitoring and guarantee the irreproachable quality of the water supplied to Parisians. Eau de Paris delivers water that is rigorously monitored and that complies in all respects with the regulatory quality limits, which are among the strictest in the world.

The water you consume in Paris is one of the most controlled foods in France. Half of it comes from groundwater and the other half from water.
of river. Before reaching your tap, the waters of the Seine and the Marne undergo a whole series of treatments in the Eau de Paris factories. First, the largest debris and suspended solids in the water are retained using a grid. Clarification then removes fine particles and some of the bacteria, then the water is treated through several disinfection processes. First there is ozonation. The injection of fine bubbles of ozone eliminates viruses, bacteria and some of the chemicals. Then comes a second ultraviolet disinfection treatment and eliminates parasites, viruses and bacteria that would have resisted ozonation. The third and final step is the chlorination treatment. A small amount of chlorine is added to the water to ensure its quality to your tap. Eau de Paris monitors the water you drink 24 hours a day, 24 days a week with nearly a million measurements carried out each year with complete safety. There is therefore no risk in using and drinking tap water every day.

A double control of Paris water:

  • both by Eau de Paris, which carries out continuous quality measurements by analyzers, coupled with samples analyzed in the Paris Water Laboratory several times a day, even an hour, at all stages of production, from the catchment to the tap. Eau de Paris also continuously monitors the level of chlorine present in the water circulating in the network.
  • both externally, by an independent laboratory mandated by the health authorities. The summary of the results is published every month by theIle-de-France Regional Health Agency
