Take part in the Café Race

On Sunday March 24, the legendary race of waitresses and waiters returns to the capital. Are you a professional in the hotel and catering industry? Board in hand, come and compete against your colleagues and take on an original sporting challenge in the heart of Paris.

The Coffee Race 

At the start, at Place de l'Hôtel de Ville, you will be given a tray, on which will be placed a glass of tap water, a coffee and a croissant. Your mission: bring it back as quickly as possible and intact upon arrival, 2 km later. The loop route crosses part of the Marais.

Golden rule, the course is done by walking and any participant caught running will be disqualified! Upon arrival, judges will check the levels of the containers and the integrity of the tray.

Two tests are organized, the first for professionals and the second for apprentices and trainees. The winners will win prestigious prizes offered by the Union of trades and industries of the Paris Île-de-France hotel industry (UMIH) et the Groupement des Hôtelleries & Restaurations de France Paris Île-de-France (GHR), partners of the event.

Conditions

  • Work as a waiter or waitress in a café, hotel or restaurant, as a professional, apprentice or trainee. 
  • Register online for one of the two races (professionals or apprentices and trainees) before Wednesday March 20, 2024
