Because water is a basic necessity, Eau de Paris makes every effort to ensure that Parisians have daily access to this resource at the fairest price, without ever compromising on quality.

  • Production and distribution by Eau de Paris: 27,20% or €1 excluding tax per cubic meter
  • Sanitation (SAP + SIAAP): 48,75%, or €1,9510 excluding tax per cubic meter 
  • Other public bodies (AESN, EPTB Seine-Grands Lacs, VNF and City of Paris): 16,57%, or €0.6630 excluding tax per cubic meter 
  • VAT (State): 7,49%, or €0,2927 excluding tax per cubic meter

 

  

The most economical water


The price of water in Paris is one of the lowest in Île-de-France! For all types of daily uses, Paris water costs 0,004 euros per liter. At 1er January 2024, the total price per cubic meter of water amounts to 4€ incl. VAT/m3 excluding subscription. Despite the evolution of prices, water in Paris remains the cheapest in the metropolis.   

The daily water expenditure for a family of 4 in Paris is approximately €1,9. The calculation is very advantageous for drinking water: a Parisian who drinks 1,5 liters of Parisian water per day spends only €2,20 per year!

Understanding your water bill

When you pay your water bill, you contribute to the protection of the resource, to the catchment, to the treatment of water, to its transport, its monitoring, its distribution but also to the collection of wastewater and its purification before the return to the natural environment. Without forgetting the royalties which will finance broader actions of water conservation. 

Each year, Eau de Paris reinvests almost all of its operating surpluses in an ambitious work program, essential to constantly modernize the industrial heritage and thus improve the quality of its services to subscribers and users. . Fighting against water leaks notably involves investing in the replacement of the oldest pipes.
